I free hand everything I draw. I never got into doing the oval with lines all over it. I suppose that’s a good technique, and I know a lot of great illustrators who do it, but I just never felt like doing it.
Drawing and singing along to #DCT
Another quick portrait sketch commission.

Drawing a portrait for the sweet @oh_rapunzel
If I were a comic character, this is how I would look.
While drawing this I thought, “Is it super dorky that I keep drawing myself?
Naw, I’m awesome.”
WOW! I’m so surprised how many people like this pic!
It’s funny, ‘cause this was a super fast sketch I drew, ‘cause I was trying to figure out what kind of outfit I should wear for a shoot.
Thanks everyone for the love! Please check out my other drawings ^-^ <3
Dot dot dot hair.
The best tips & tricks I can give when it comes to drawing is to just look at faces. Whenever I can, I look at the face of people on TV, on my computer screen, my friends when they are talking to me, the mirror, etc. It’s hard, but I’m studying how faces work so I can better understand how to draw them. I think once you understand real faces, then it’s much easier to be able to draw cartoony faces.
I don’t know if any of that has been reflected in my work to date, but I hope it will reflect in my newer stuff.
And as for paper & pencils, I just use what is super cheap, and the stuff people give me (because I am poor!) Once in a while, I will buy some Bristol paper because I love how smooth it is. Lately I’ve been drawing on birch plywood.
Good luck in your artist journey! ^_^
Did some super light & quick sketching of Will Graham.
I’m finally able to work on my Hannibal doujinshi. I wanted it to be finished by now, but it’s looking like it’ll be ready in time for the holidays!
